NECK CRANKS “redux”

Soldiers and Police should not have a “Sports” fighting
mindset if they find themselves caught in a popular position such as “The Guard.”
We teach a lot… of neck crank variations in our courses as
counters to other tactics that guys are learning and this includes criminals.
Neck Cranks provide a very high degree of pain and control while
mitigating injuries. They affect the Brachial and Vagus nerves of the neck
which are pressure points that should be memorized due to the fact they will
work on the majority of people.
The picture you can see how I am not trying to break or pass
his Guard. My goal is to immediately take back control of the fight before he
has the chance to use his Guard variations on me which include chokes and
arm-breaks.
Posting one of your legs will also give you the ability to
form a strong triangle for a base in a tripod formation. This is far more
stable than being on your knees and will increase your core leverage as you
apply the Neck Crank.
